This is a part 17 of 18 film stills of the 1950 western Bells of Colorado. While playing the VHS movie, I took digital photos; The result was an impressionistic image, further enhanced by the impasto oil paint application. The romantic notion of the film, with lush textures and sheens of oil paints transends this body of work back into the ideology of the impressionists. The content of the film and body of all 18 works, when viewed all together is wholly modern, complete with equality, sexuality and opportunity.
