This was inspired by a book by Poul Beckmann, and I was delighted when I wrote the publisher and he allowed me to use his photographs as reference. I find great delight in the variety of forms and colours that insects present, and wanted to create work that created a new context and allowed the viewer to see their 'unexpected beauty'.
