About The Artwork

Since the topic of my stories is people and their activities, I would like to touch on the topic of the Nepalese people, who are called Sherpas. Sherpas are widely known for their mountaineering abilities and good knowledge of their highlands. They are of great help, especially for expeditions to Chomolungma, Everest. It is with the help of the Sherpas that people who dream of conquering Everest get there. For little money, these people are forced to carry burdens in the form of a mountain of things that are necessary for expeditions and to conquer the summit of Everest. Already, Sherpas are highly regarded in the international community of mountaineers and rock climbers for their endurance, qualifications, and experience in mountain hiking and climbing at very high altitudes. For an ordinary person who wants to conquer Everest, climbing high mountain peaks adversely affects their health, since, in such places the air is rarefied, and the blood is less saturated with oxygen. Because of this, unadapted people who get there often feel weakness, malaise, and other symptoms of the so-called mountain sickness. Sherpas are much less likely to face these difficulties, as they are adapted to the conditions of high mountains. In my watercolor works, I show how important and important the work of the Sherpas is in any of the high-altitude expeditions, their endurance, and physical strength an integral elements of climbing the Mountain.

My name is Shiptenko Bogdan. I was born in 1994 in the city of Kryvyi Rih, Ukraine. Since childhood I loved to draw in my special notebook, where I liked to depict cartoon characters. Every day I draw, and without it I can not draw for me it's like breathing. Most of all I love black and white graphics and watercolor painting. Black and white graphics I fell in love with since the University, when I was a second-year student, we had a summer practice, we went out to draw on nature (plein air), since then I loved to draw the urban environment and everything connected with it! My works are mainly devoted to the urbanscape. And that is what the spirit of the city, delicious food, cafe atmosphere, the architecture, the noise of the streets, change of weather, crazy street bustle, rush hour, etc etc due to the fact that I paint wherever possible, traveling to different cities and countries when I eat, or rest, and so on. In the process of drawing, I give myself fully, entirely to the process, because that's what I enjoy and what I live every day. I love watercolor painting for its transparency, expression. Watercolor is a magical material, as magic happens right when you draw it, it gives a lot of interesting effects that the artist does not expect and he would not have come up with them. In graphics I love to work out every stroke, I like to stroke with very thin tools creating fine lines, for this I use ballpoint pen, markers and other.
