Streaming No. 2 (Theory of the Universe), Limited Edition 1/10 Painting

The work’s empty upper right corner resets the pictorial plain as a cutout from a larger configuration beyond the frame from which energy streams into the work from the left, in a slightly upward direction. The main part of the work is an inset into this larger configuration in which it rests, -- a greyish-white wall against which the work plays out that defines its base and lower right. Within the inset, an upwardly oriented dark-colored movement along the right emerges from an indistinct welter of colors, meeting resistance from the left that hinders further ascent. This arrest, underscored horizontally at the bottom, spreads tension over the work’s pictorial space so that a sense of imprisonment is conveyed. The work is a metaphor for the absence of a unitary origin of the universe that logical thinking tries so hard to establish in irrealistic fashion. The work is printed on Hot Press Fine Art Smooth Bright White paper (an acid free, 100% cotton rag media with a bright textured finish, yielding an extremely high color gamut and black density). It is signed and numbered by the artist, accompanied by a CoA, and shipped without hanging hardware, in a very sturdy tube protected against folding and puncture.
