About The Artwork
This original acrylic painting was born when I was thinking about how many universes are there and how little we know about them. I was reflecting on the astral plane, the spiritual world, the subatomic universe, and the cosmos in the human mind. Some of these universes influence a person’s personality and moods. In my painting, the energy flows from North to South in a change of color. As a cool color, the blue in the South gives a sense of calm and quiet, while the warmth colors in the North inspire joy. This painting belongs to my Energy series. Synchronized Poles was featured on “Resonances”, my 2016 exhibition at the Museum of The Americas in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

I seek to project authentic, intimate interpretations of the world I encounter. As a native of Puerto Rico, I am influenced by the characters, emotions, images, and colors associated with the island. Sometimes I turn to my childhood memories to address the existential questions I want to express. I've recently explored the concepts of time, energy, light, and space through my paintings and drawings. This has led me to work with hybrid subjects and media that can converge figuration with traits of abstraction and surrealism. I use symbolism and distortions to bridge the figures and their environment, creating scenes where surrounding energies and time metaphors serve as the glue of an idea.
