I look forward to spring every year, not just because of the warm weather finally arriving, but because of the promise of these pretty flowers in my yard. The scent of lilacs is something I enjoy in my home, and here is a sprig from my yard. I placed them in a vintage canning jar from my Grandmother, and it inspired this painting. Take time to smell the lilacs.

I am a mostly self taught artist, living in a small picturesque town in Connecticut. From fields of sunflowers, spring trees in bloom, snowy landscapes, and places I travel, I can find inspiration anywhere.
