About The Artwork

The reason that led me to make this artwork on the subject of drugs is to protest against this world invaded by the hell of drugs inspired by Picasso's Guernica, the world is constantly going through transition stages, but this is devastating, where is it going to arrive that beautiful nation that is the United States and the world, drug addiction does not respect gender or social status, it is sad to see thousands of people abandoned to their fate in the streets, the world continues to advance but that problem continues to grow and we will be suffering the consequences, with all due respect to all those people who have fallen into that misfortune, this painting with monochrome tones, maintaining my style of realism and expressionist pop art, this is not a performance unfortunately it is a reality showing the drama, the pain and the frustration, the purpose is for governments to work on this, the people fallen into this misfortune are asking for help, the title of the work “The Forgotten” the objective is get the message across, let's fight for a world without drugs. As a passionate rocker and a lover of classic Hollywood cinema, here I am trying to narrate what is happening, to see in a very graphic way, the consequences of drugs, I have never painted a painting with so much drama or pain, in no way is this painting a decorative painting with the sole intention of conveying this message, portraying the drama and pain of the world of drugs, a world worse than all the tsunamis, earthquakes and tornadoes together that are leading that beautiful country to destruction, hopefully this will be just a sad passage, I hope this piece is able to show the viewer the need to do something, to act, not to be indifferent, looking for a light of hope for those who have lost everything Hector Monroy “Monrock”
