the painting is a work of my self-portrait, which represents my inner world, where I seek my path, trying to find my identity, understand my doubts, anxiety, depression, trying to escape the traps of life but with the desire to win, in the ups and downs of life trying to evolve at each stage and find the light within the soul hidden in the shadows of the darkness of existence, finding the purpose of life in this universe of possibilities. The work is inspired by the artist's own self-portrait, representing their inner world and personal journey of self-discovery, identity, and overcoming challenges such as doubts, anxiety, and depression. The painting reflects the artist's desire to escape the traps of life and find their own path, while also acknowledging the ups and downs of life and the continuous process of personal growth and finding meaning. The artist may hope that viewers of the painting will feel a sense of connection and empathy, as they explore universal themes of self-exploration and the search for purpose. The artwork may evoke emotions such as introspection, contemplation, and a sense of shared human experiences. The artist may also want to challenge societal stigmas surrounding mental health and encourage a more open and compassionate dialogue. The choice of paper as the medium is intentional to symbolize human fragility and vulnerability. Paper is delicate and can easily tear or be damaged, reflecting the artist's own experiences and struggles. The subject matter of a self-portrait allows for a personal and introspective exploration, inviting viewers to reflect on their own journeys of self-discovery. The style of the painting may vary depending on the artist's preference, but it could be expressive, abstract, or symbolic to convey the complexity and depth of the artist's emotions and inner world.

Self-taught Visual Artist Ever since I was little, I liked to doodle on paper, sketch, drawings, but I did it more as a hobby, but I learned to love art with my older brother, Carlos Lopes, who is a geometry and visual arts teacher, watching him paint I started to paint some abstract paintings and then I started to I researched more about the world of art and he showed me the avant-garde artists who became my references and favorite artists. In 2018, he invited me to do an exhibition with him, and I already had a number of paintings already painted, and it was my first collective exhibition. I am passionate about exploring new forms of artistic creation, and I work primarily in the contemporary and abstract art styles. My artistic references include some of the great masters of the art world, such as Jean-Michel Basquiat, Jackson Pollock, and Pablo Picasso. I find inspiration in the simple things of my daily life, as well as in my travels and my imagination. I am always looking for new ways to express my creativity and to achieve different forms. I hope to inspire others to think differently and to see the beauty in the world around them.
