My original inspiration came from clouds. Abstract in my imagination taking on different textures- as I imagined them magnified from within. As I painted I felt more of a flow- like water. Hence the title, Water Clouds.

I discovered my passion for Art later in life which led me to completing my degree while following my heart's desire. Graduating from UCSB with a BA in Art allowed me to work with various mediums and tune into conceptual and aesthetic ideas, while learning the fundamentals. I started exploring through paint with a method called "pouring" towards the end of my studies at UCSB and continue to explore through this method today. Pouring allows me to release control and paint to move and mix freely. I love the feeling of collaborating with the paint itself- how messy it gets and feeling the medium between my fingers, while painting. My inspiration comes from nature- such an artist cliche I know- but how can everything NOT be inspired by the beauty that surrounds us? My influences come from heavy hitters like Georgia O'Keeffe and Jackson Pollock. Completely different art styles, I know, but I love how Georgia O'Keeffe embraced femininity and nature- while Jackson Pollock embraced the movements and process itself.
