Willy and his theatrical illusions Painting

Art for me is about creating stories, a narrative form that evolves out of process. My paintings are never designed a certain way. They can be turned with the viewers perspective and preference. Inspired by Howard Hodgkins and Magnus Plessen. Eating my crunchies as i write this. Colours = Aesthetics? For me its how each colour sits next to each other. Like each one is not always battling but conversing with the next and always on a different plane. For every painting is a battle. And if the battle is won too easily the painting fails. I have many. Life is torture and progress. My storys all relate to history. I have gleamed at the Purples in Tara Kings room. And the victorian theatres in an old wooden cupboard. Beyond that is the ability to break down and cut up an unidentifiable object that reams into ambiguities. My work is more rooted in the atemporal and pre-futurism.
