Angel Photograph

This is an abstract piece painted on what I call Wine Paper (the paperboard used in cases of wine). I used this for its ability to hold a great deal of paint, its texture, and to reduce what I send to the landfill. Upcycled art has many appearances and I want this Wine Paper collection to demonstrate the possibilities of using alternative mediums and styles. Additionally, I have placed this piece in a refurbished wooden frame. The style is inspired by Aboriginal dot painting. The fluid forms are ethereal, colorful, and fluid. The white outlines help to emphasize each color and shape. By using red, shades of blue, and white was a departure from traditional aboriginal art colors. I used gel sticks, acrylic paint markers, and felt markers.
