About The Artwork

I saw this view looking down from the 67th floor of the Willis (formerly Sears) Tower. I was waiting for an event to begin that I had contracted to document. It was in a private club with spectacular views in all directions from the center of Chicago's central business district. Soon the streets and sidewalks would be crowded as people rushed to busses and trains taking them home from work. The lights in buildings had just come on. I was attracted by the curve of the building on the left with its use of materials and technology so different from the gray building on the right, reflecting architectural thinking and design from another age. As with so many scenes I wanted to make it more than a straight photograph. Photoshop helped with levels adjustments, contrast, sharpening, and a few art filters to add the effects in this final print. I even had to paint a roof darker because it's light color distracted from my intention.

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

I was a street photographer responding to lines, color, people and places long before I realized what I was doing or how it influenced the direction my life would take. Grew up on the original black & white LIFE magazine, eager for its arrival every Thursday, instantly studying all the photos. That is where my concept of photography formed and where my desire grew to become a photographer. I worked in other industries yet nothing satisfied me as much or meant as much as taking - making - pictures. I have been a self-taught freelance photographer for almost 40 years. I create original photo art - fine art images - sold from my studio, my web site and through a few select online galleries. Commercially, I shoot environmental portraits, photograph events, and develop documentary projects for a variety of nonprofits, corporate clients, and government agencies. I work as a partner with clients, helping them to maximize the strategic power of pictures. My images are used for PR, communications, image building, income development, and marketing.
