About The Artwork

This limited edition metal print is from a 4 year photo project I was immersed in while living in downtown Los Angeles. It was included in my solo exhibition at Gloria Delson Contemporary Arts Gallery on Spring Street in June 2014. Liberty Must Go is an interpretation of an out of place Lady Liberty tile mosaic located on Los Angeles Street in the Downtown Los Angeles Fashion District. I used to regularly walk my dog under this installation, never noticing Lady Liberty above. One day I crossed the street to be on the shady side and couldn't believe my eyes. There was this beautiful mural lit up by a swath of sunlight also illuminating the yellow "Everything Must Go" banner like a punctuation mark on the the liquidation of the American dream. This image is printed on aluminum with a dye transfer process that combines heat and pressure to embed the image into a coated substrate. It is a robust and archival medium that should last well over 100 years. There is a floating frame on the back of the metal print that stiffens the artwork and provides a hanging mechanism. Signed print with certificate of authenticity.

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

As an artist with an intuitive grasp of technology, I work at the edges of digital imagery. I’ve been a recognized photographer and educator for many years. My accomplishments include writing the guide that shipped with Adobe Lightroom 1.0, consulting on Apple’s Aperture, producing the first conference about DSLR video and writing a corresponding textbook for collegiate photo departments that was published in 9 countries and 7 languages. In 2014 I was added to the prestigious roster of Sony’s Artisans of Imagery. That same year a concerted and deliberate exploration of iPhoneography led to my first solo exhibition at the well respected Gloria Delson Contemporary Arts Gallery in downtown Los Angeles. I have shown work and been a featured speaker at PhotoLA, Palm Springs Photo Festival, PDN’s PhotoPlus International Conference + Expo, Digital Image Festival in Sydney Australia and at the Digital Signage Expo. In addition to making fine art prints my work has moved into the realm of 4K video as art in the form of motion clips and Cinemagraph style motion imagery presented as installation pieces.
