The heron itself inspired the work. It had been standing, motionless, fishing in the pond. I had my lens trained on it, trying to be motionless myself; I did not want to attract attention. I took several shots of it fishing. Then, as though standing up to stretch, it started to walk out of the pond toward me, and slowly unfolded its ANGEL-LIKE wings. In that decisive moment, I took the shot. I was awed, as I hope my viewers will be; I managed to capture the moment--bird's decisive beak, pink wing-tips, balletic claws and all. It was dusk,
