About The Artwork

Limited Edition of 15 Giclée Prints on heavy watercolor 310g paper with a subtle texture. This acid-free paper is 100% cotton fiber and is finished with a water-based protective spray. Premium inks used produce images with smooth tones and rich colors. Prints in this size are in limited editions of 15, signed, numbered and dated, and come with a certificate of authenticity. Allow 2 weeks for delivery of this limited edition print. Bill and Blake invited us to see their new condo home in Chicago facing Lincoln Park, the Outer Drive expressway, and Lake Michigan. Blake was especially excited to show us the 40th floor roof deck view. A full harvest moon reflecting on water made the scene spectacular. Tiny cars flowed through the darkened park. My only camera was my smartphone which would yield a noisy, pixelated photo, yet I quickly visualized creating an image that looked like a painting. I chose to eliminate the moon, but leave it's reflection which was exaggerated with a Photoshop cross-hatch filter effect. The traffic looks like dabs of color. I think this image looks better as it is made bigger.

I was a street photographer responding to lines, color, people and places long before I realized what I was doing or how it influenced the direction my life would take. Grew up on the original black & white LIFE magazine, eager for its arrival every Thursday, instantly studying all the photos. That is where my concept of photography formed and where my desire grew to become a photographer. I worked in other industries yet nothing satisfied me as much or meant as much as taking - making - pictures. I have been a self-taught freelance photographer for almost 40 years. I create original photo art - fine art images - sold from my studio, my web site and through a few select online galleries. Commercially, I shoot environmental portraits, photograph events, and develop documentary projects for a variety of nonprofits, corporate clients, and government agencies. I work as a partner with clients, helping them to maximize the strategic power of pictures. My images are used for PR, communications, image building, income development, and marketing.
