In this piece, the hero Achilles is replaced by Wolverine because of the connection between the two. They are considered to be almost indestructible except for Achilles' heel and Wolverine's adamantium bullet to the head. The scene here shows the fight between Achilles and Hector that took place during the Trojan War, before the empire's fall and the hero's demise. The image of the pot that served as a medium is called a Kalyx Krater and it was a libation vessel but used more in the preparation of the wine because of it's enormous size. This is one of the works from a collection of 9 prints. This collection of prints is based on the hero archetype that has lasted many centuries, suffering minor "adjustments" along time. The starting point of this collection of prints is Greek mythology which is in close relation with Comic book strips from nowadays. I chose to emphasize this connection by replacing the ancient heroes with comic book heroes. The scenes in which the heroes appear are like the illustration on the Greek ceramic pots. The Greek heroes: Hercules, Achilles, Odysseus, Jason and Atalanta. The comic book heroes are: Hellboy, Wolverine, Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman. The title refers to the heaven for heroes from Greek mythology.
