Sculpture "Ebbs and Flows" - about love, feelings, variability and constancy.
It’s about man and woman who, being passionately in love with each other, are able and eager to change, to become better. I have fixed in clay the moment of the couple’s perfect state – when the lovers are like angels - ready for compassion and self-sacrifice for each other. But human love can not last forever. It changes, transforms, fades and flashes.
The main property of the sculpture is constancy. The images that have entered the clay stay beautiful and loving - they are permanent now. Time won’t touch their young faces, they won’t get old, feelings will not fade. Love passions will not make them do stupid things, run away from each other. They will never know the pain of separation, betrayal, or deceit. Whatever happens, their feelings are shining - and this is the magic inherent in the sculpture – constancy in the changing world ...
And the prototypes of these images - living people - went on to suffer bumps and bruises and look for the new traps in their daily wanderings ...
