About The Artwork
PORTRAIT plays with the idea of forced flatness. An intricate network of interconnected nodes forms a fluctuating topography of branches. The energy of the crafted three dimensional system, however, is dissolved (or sucked dry?) by the presence of the black hole - reducing the sculpture to the flatness of a circle. The collapse of dimensions onto a single plane. The reduction of a being into a portrait.
