This piece was part of my solo exhibition "Dollar Cinema" at IGCA in Anchorage, Alaska. Inspired by the low-budget exploitation films of the 1970s often referred to as Grindhouse, which features lurid stories loaded with plenty of sex and violence. Director Robert Rodriguez describes Grindhouse films as “go-for-broke movies where you made the poster first and go from there”, and that’s what I’ve done here. The images and the title suggest the theme but you sort of think up the characters and plotline on your own.” This piece is framed in 18"x18" black frame with black, single mat. Back is papered and wired for hanging.

I'm a visual artist from Anchorage, Alaska. I BRING DEAD PAPER TO LIFE Collage is like recycling. I’m using the pages of discarded books and magazines to tell a new story. I appreciate vintage advertising and style and rework it into surreal landscapes or compound, didactic themes. I'm a member of IGCA, BAI, and CoCA Seattle.
