About The Artwork
"Backpiece" is a term of the Graffiti scene used for Graffiti letters, or a Graffiti style (piece), painted on the back of a jacket. In case of this drawing the artist made a bit fun of it by using the double meaning of the word "back" to refer to the habit of old school Graffiti writers to paint the back of their jackets. This drawing is the last of old works in the possession of the artist, and was signed with his old alter ego "Miguel". Graffiti writers who are still illegally active often use different names for legal and illegal arts-driven activities. Technique: Oil chalk and acrylic paint on black venetian paper.
