I'm not great at drawing eyeballs but I love them, and thought of someone without eyes wearing a crown of eyeballs with fingers crossed to indicate people who blindly wish for or believe in something and expect to come out okay, but instead end up in tearful situations that they can't easily get out of, hence the hand turning into the ground.
