About The Artwork
Irises are the national flower of France and I love flowers and irises because of their beautiful purple colors. I was inspired to draw the Fleur de Lis as if taking a macro shot of the flower and bringing it to life. Lilies were a symbol of royalty, as seen with the lily-inspired fleur de lis symbol. Purple was also a color restricted only to the royal families for many centuries due to the rarity of the dye.
