Louise Brooks (1906 - 1985) Louise Brooks once summed up her life by saying, "I have failed in everything -- spelling, arithmetic, riding, tennis, golf; dancing, singing, acting; wife, mistress, whore, friend. Even cooking. And I do not excuse myself with the usual escape of 'not trying.' I tried with all my heart.” Despite all these so-called failures she remains one of the most widely recognized and admired film icons of the 1920’s. I mean, she just epitomizes “cool." This is a pencil drawn illustration that I created for a group show entitled "Mujeres X Mujeres" here in Buenos Aires with two of my illustrator friends Andrea Toledo and Jésica Cichero. Measures 10 cm x 15 cm, drawn with Faber-Castell pencils on acid free paper.
