'Abandoned' is a blue ink monochromatic painting of a landscape. This painting is part of a collection of chinese inspired ink paintings. Based on solitude, minimalism and serenity, this painting embodies these repeating themes, and motifs of a mountainous landscape and lone figure throughout the collection. This painting in the collection is inspired by the artist's connection to being immersed in nature and moments of quiet and solitude. 'Abandoned' is a painting that depicts mystery, stillness, coldness, and emptiness left behind by someone. Old and abandoned things fascinate the artist because of these characteristics, but most of all there is an openness to one's imagination in creating stories or knowing the story behind something that has been abandoned. Everything has a story. Stories are captivating and continues to fascinate, especially in things that have been left behind, drifting in nature. The abandoned boat looks very out of place with everything else, but once belonged because it had a purpose.

Caribbean artist with influences from beautiful and vibrant biodiversity in her home country, Trinidad and Tobago. Having a playful and dynamic artistic style that is experimental, she explores different styles, from using vibrant and fauvist inspired palettes to a monchrome. She is primarily inspired by Chinese landscape ink paintings that have evolved into a more contemporary expressive style. Her most recent works consist of monchromatic ink paintings that see a greater abstraction of forms, expression and playfulness in design overlays. Her use of ink is therapeutic and meditative where one has to understand the natural flow of ink and how it interacts with layers, water and the paper in creating forms.
