One of the main stories in the Old Testament is the sacrifice of Isaac. God commanded Abraham to offer his son as a sacrifice. I meditated on this story greatly and found that it is difficult to capture Abraham’s expression at the moment he was sacrificing his son. This is why I am not revealing his eyes. With such an extraordinary sacrifice that required full obedience, Abraham was promised numerous descendants and abundant prosperity. Thus, the short palm tree symbolizes that everything is small compared to this great act of selflessness. Abraham is the common father of the three monotheistic religions. With such an intrinsic and universal link among these religions, I trust that tolerance and acceptance of others can be easier to achieve.
