About The Artwork

The actual image uploaded has not been cropped therefore what can be seen at the sides of the piece is what is behind the canvas. I just liked the way not cropping the piece added a dimension of angles as if defying what you are really seeing! The process of outlining the painting began late summer of 2018 Oil paint application to the canvas began from November 2018 and was finished on 27/01/2019/10:30 Poetry Created 23/11/2018/18:23 The Work of Feel & Think An angel stands present.....waiting Whilst tackled by a heavy burden An angel stood by waiting for the permission they need to help An angel who stood by waiting to intervene [the angel is not a self - portrait - it is purely imaginative works representative of no one - nobody!] The Depiction is inexplicable Is an undetailed memory Which I cannot fully express Without express permission But I just dared to venture in as a process of healing as it is something i was brought into which haunts me to this day, which nothing in comparison to what the actual journey of the experience was! The blue plastic bag representation with the broken mirror is something which i saw one day shortly after moving to my current address. It reminded me of a bag i used to keep all old mobile phones in. Which i have not located for ages due to moving so many times and often being packed up and ready to move years before i was even allocated a property! I was just always ready waiting for the opportunity to manifest! Don't know if i threw the bag out by mistake or what i did with it? The Inspiration THE BURDEN is ENOUGH! Imprisoned back from childbirth Violence at the door of every hope All little CHILDREN could wish for Still migrants of loving feelings Incessant in memory reliving! Collapsed in the heat of the soul Bewildered in the shield of what is good on earth Present in the fire which devours re-emergence Of all the life experiences Only the ill want to keep it going! Sick is the family which won't let go The ones who grow untreated With the only ambition to re-inflict the old Stayed in their impression Of their right of entitlement To cause ongoing misery In their failure Failed by supportive systems To harness their ability Despite the excesses of information Created for them To heal fully! 15/05/2018 Choice of Medium I have been too comfortable with paper for sometime now Yet it has served me well as most of my collections are therapeutic works. The speed of reaching for a piece of paper works well, as it is a far longer process to build a canvas, then rearrange a place to work on it. As crass as it may sound the potential for profit is also a factor in the decision making process when choosing oil paint to work with! After working on many paper collections I vowed to surrender and commit to only working in oil. Even, if I had to force myself which thankfully I did not. Despite the mention of profit The need to create the subject matter, heal from what is being created. The actual level of relief, feeling less physically burdened, feeling much more well by action and process far outweighs any other decision making factors. Oil for me is a more measured process. I often found I had to be very careful about when i work on a piece especially when I have to go out to work. Because once I started negotiating the oils- I did not want to stop! Born in London. From kitchen table top, to connecting to the market place creating a hub of creativity. I have had the opportunity and privilege to live and experience many different area's in England and addresses in and around London, living in different social conditions, with a different set of challenges and joy's at each location. These experiences continue to be the biggest influence and inspiration for my work to date, inspiring imaginative impressions, which translate into expressions of fictional characters, and decorative designs. Whilst I did attend formal schooling, I did manage to achieve leaving secondary schooling without qualifications. Later gaining qualifications by investing in vocational training. I initially took up sketching to help me with clothes design, attending a local community college, it was a cheaper option as a young parent at the time. I come from a background of naturally creative people, where things like clothes were made without patterns, or any prior preparation for design. It was a time of instinctive survival, with a jump in and get it done way of living and thinking, learn on the go type of attitude toward life. Writing poetry plays the role of being my first point of creativity, it is a combination of free flow journal writing, "free flow" is a method of unblocking personal expression. Examples of this is the pen sketch and textile remnant journals, where poetry, meaningful sayings, and short messages meet. Expressing myself through writing journals, poetry, and even finding a way of writing threw creating an image, led me to explore painting as a further means of deeper self expression, exploration and release. What emerged is a spontaneous method of painting, composition admittedly is not a study in every piece initially, but emerges in the form of allowing a subject to develop in a space, in whatever form or position it takes. Coming from the era where Art was not seen as a proper job, taking that notion on - for a long time. I struggled to come terms with art as anything other than frivolity, despite being a creative. To understand my work further; The experience behind the creative process. Throughout my life as a child to present day I have been effected by the collection of behaviours known as Stalking. As a child and teen I witnessed others experiences.
