Step into the heart of historical Krakow with this watercolor artwork. Inspired by the architectural marvels of the European urban landscape, this piece focuses on the enchanting Old Town, featuring the iconic Bazylika Mariacka and the charming streets of Poland. The inspiration for this artwork stems from a deep appreciation for the rich history and cultural heritage found in the Old Towns of European cities, particularly in Krakow. The intricacies of the architecture, the play of light on the facades, and the bustling street scenes all served as compelling elements that fueled the creation of this piece. As you delve into this watercolor, my hope is that you'll feel transported to the cobblestone streets and historical charm of Krakow. The harmonious blend of colors and the meticulous detailing aim to evoke a sense of nostalgia and wonder. The choice of watercolor as the medium allows for a delicate portrayal of the architectural details, capturing the essence of the Old Town with a soft and expressive touch. The medium's fluidity and transparency add an extra layer of charm to the scene, enhancing the overall atmosphere. Through this artwork, I invite viewers to contemplate the beauty of historic urban landscapes, appreciate the cultural significance embedded in each building, and perhaps experience a moment of connection with the vibrant spirit of Krakow. May this piece serve as a visual journey into the past, prompting reflections on the timeless allure of European cityscapes.

I am an artist, a monumental painter from Ukraine, temporarily living in Krakow, Poland. Born in Ukraine, in 1963. After graduating (Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts Department of Monumental Painting) works on the wall painting in the Orthodox churches of the Kharkiv diocese, Borispol, Cherkasy, Ukraine. "Mykola Dzvonyk has a peculiar manner of the artist, which is based on the traditions of "old painting", which appeals to the best examples of a painting of past eras, in particular the Northern Renaissance. Within Cherkasy, the artist creates works that are timeless and global in content." (Magazine, Prostir. Museum, Ukraine)
