About The Artwork

The Coach & Horses on Bruton Street and by Barlow Place in Mayfair, London is one of the cutest "ye olde" pubs in London. Dating from the 1770s, the coaching inn was built providing rest to the tired horses and a pint and some grub their weary passengers. When I saw it for the first time, I immediately fell in love with this quaint Tudor building that looked straight out of a fairy tale. It is one of the oldest surviving unreconstructed tavern in Mayfair. Its cute and inviting looks with quirky and interesting windows, roof and chimneys inspired me to paint this with ink lines to illustrate the detail and bright watercolours to bring out the lovely colours of the lights coming through from the stained glass windows.
