Waiting to see the approaching steam train on Crook Hill Bridge in the New Forest near Ashurst, Hampshire, England. Crook Hill Bridge was dated 1848 but the original cast iron construction has been rebuilt and replaced by concrete. The painting is signed R.M. Harris and dated 2006. Framed in a Gold wood based frame. I visited the bridge in June 2022 and the cast panels and wooden surround have been replaced with a modern 7 feet high steel sheet panel construction completely obscuring the view.

I was born in Southampton, England in 1952 and started painting in 1982. The main influence in the early days was Pre-Raphaelite art. I paint mostly in oil and acrylic in a Realist style on stretched canvas.
