(Germany is already playing war again, Gerhard). A german soldier told me, he aks himself what we are doing. Our mission is impossible, our waepons are old. My familiy lost 2 men at the russian front in WWII, 2 woman and 1 child by english bomber attack and one grandma died by drudgery and hunger on the run from Danzig to Duisburg. Everyone of them was unsubstitutionabel especially Jochen the child. Was`nt it enough war for germany in the past? In 1964 (my birthyear) Gerhard Richter painted his Mustang Staffel against the rebuilding of the Bundeswehr. Obviously Richter and his painting manner is an old one, but I think to deal with the subject is just up to date. Richter used two colours black and green. I wanted to use only one colour - chromeoxyd green. It supposed to be another symbol for the simplicity - of our brain.
