The icon of the Blessed Virgin with the baby Tenderness is written in the traditional canonical Byzantine style. According to legend, this is the first icon painted by the Evangelist Luke during the life of the Mother of God and this allows it to be used in liturgical rites of various faiths, including Catholicism. The production of the icon was carried out taking into account the old and modern technologies. Multilayer tempera drawing of an egg is performed on a primed board using washed chalk and linen fabric and animal glue. The soil is called "levkas". Linden board. On the front side, the “ark” is a symbolic recess on the board, which is also a frame and a protective barrier to preserve the paint layer. On the back of the board are two oak veneers. Sheet gold leaf is used in the icon. At the end of the painting the icon is covered with a layer of natural varnish and a protective layer of varnish. The back side of the board is covered with an antibacterial protective coating. The icon in Russia is known as Vladimirskaya and is a copy of the oldest version of the image of affection.
