About The Artwork
A few years ago while sailing on the Inland Cruise to Alaska, I took some shots of Ketchikan in the mist as we sailed out of the harbor for reference as I knew I would later want to capture what I was seeing in an abstracted painting. I chose to use modulated, bright colors and softened, mysterious and barely perceived elements hidden in the mist. After many, many revisions, this is the result. I'm very pleased with the sense of soft mystery, the beautiful colors and the sparkle that emerges from the mist.
