About The Artwork
This piece was inspired by night life. Many many many nights of endless partying on the weekends. Many times I have parties in my studio as I paint. I love the vibe and energy around me. Attention can be as intoxicating as my old fashioned on the rocks. The details in the background of the painting tell a story...big city lights, plane trips, beautiful shapely women grabbing everyone’s attention, champagne toasts with friends...the fun parts of life. I created this mixed media painting using acrylic, spray paint, pencil, vintage comic paper, embellished with diamond and glitter. Pieces of the painting are stripped away so parts of the comic pages flow with the painting. The painting is finished with clear resin coating, protecting the work and giving a clean glass like cover. Signed and ready to hang

American artist Lamar Jones, uses themes of love, light and darkness in his work, blending pop-realism with expressionism. His concepts touch the fragility of life and the beauty of nature against the soulless uniformity of the urban world. Inspiring through art activism, his most recent work gives an abstract interpretation on politics and social injustice. I like to manipulate the familiarity of iconic characters, to give my art a nostalgic feeling. At the same time, twist the suggestive narrative to a visceral topic, to create a mature conversational piece. My work is influenced by everyday life. Sometimes I find inspiration through my muse. I often find inspiration through nature and my personal opinions that I feel are relatable. For me, art is about the vibe. My goal for every piece is to provoke thought. I create to speak a visual language of love and silent protest.
