About The Artwork

Growing up in the western part of the United States I understood the vital importance of water and the scarcity that sometimes is in regions of the west. Native Americans relied on these scarce rains as it affected migration of buffalo, other creatures and crops they cultivated which their survival was based upon. I wanted to convey through the rain drops a commonality that all tribes were at the mercy of these rains and how frail the human survival is dependent upon water. I used mixed media to give the rough texture of the American southwest .
