About The Artwork

Knowing no boundaries in order to meet the needs of life is a tradition, the unconscious "clothing" of society. not only crossing the line, but rebellion against standards, even codes of conduct. it is a fact that often happens, but living beings are not aware of it. Action without boundaries as a tradition for me is a good "clothing" to be recognized. For this reason, with the painting "Cooking Earth", I use art as an imagination beyond reason, human actions for life. Thanks to this imagination, in the end the necessities of life have a broad meaning, each individual/group has their own necessities of life. Anything, from physical activity to unusual activities can be labeled a “necessity of life”. Like food, the earth from the beginning was tasteless of life, the more it came here the more it was cooked by the development of civilization until it was rich in taste. "necessities of life" become something that is rich in interpretation after being "cooked" by "clothing" which occurs in the painting "Cooking Earth".

Ahmad Rifqi aka Michael Rodion Raul Robenz My name is Ahmad Rifqi Ardian, born in Jakarta, March 12, 1996, currently domiciled in South Tangerang. Bachelor degree at FSRD ITB 2014 - 2019. Artwork does not depend on a particular theme. I pay more attention to the universal issue of what humans do, and from there to give something different to this life through art style. However, my art style has evolved, and you could say that evolution is similar to the history of world art: in college, the universality that was concerned with was a very general one, namely the universe. I intend to simplify the human view of seeing life through art in the form of painting as a medium. It is a creative process that occurs throughout college until graduation, namely abstraction. This evolution really represents the evolution from romanticism, impressionism, to de stijl. After graduation, what is realized is relevance. Are abstractions and the universe relevant to me and life? Modernism is finally faced with rejection, namely Post-modernism. Abstract painting that became my previous style is not satisfying enough to talk about more relevant life problems. That's where my current art style was born, returning to the figurative and doing semiotics-plays to it, like New Realism and Neo-Expressionism.
