About The Artwork
When I painted this I was imagining a soulful singer in a blues and jazz club surrounded by cigarette smoke and lights for atmosphere. With eccentric lights and darks I was hoping to give the viewer the feeling of that type of setting. I wanted to give her the image of mystery, suave, and glamour. The metallics I used along with the shadows and highlights helped with her shape, plus I just love metallics.
