About The Artwork
'Night Train' shows a little cell of warmth and light (a train carriage interior) travelling through the dark night. Inside, strangers sit shoulder to shoulder, yet each within their own thoughts. This is a very Melbourne, Australia, painting as decades ago the suburban train network ran red wooden carriages with golden varnished interiors, packed every night after work. This painting sold to a collector at its first showing.
