About The Artwork

In those old, old days when we were young and the air was so clean and the dew gently stung our bare feet with the cold. We put on white and pink dresses, we ran around the orchard of blossoming apple trees. Because spring has just come. We sang happy songs and blushed as we gossiped about the boys. We ate mint ice cream, laughing at jokes. We enjoyed our freedom. We enjoyed the moment. These are beautiful, innocent memories, before the rush of life came and the springs began to pass like weeks, then days. But it's time to stop and look at those girls' eyes - and smile. The painting comes from the spring cycle, created in 2018/2019. It is painted with oils on canvas 100/80 cm, varnished, ready for hang. It was exhibited in Q22, Warsaw in 2019.

I am a graduate of the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. My work is "bipolar": figurative and abstract. Both ways complement each other and inspire. Although seemingly they seem to be completely separate, they "nourish" my work, not letting myself burn out. Their common part is color and a reference to dreams, in which nothing is impossible, and parallel worlds permeate. My art is my way to enjoy the world, its beauty and share it with people. In my abstract works, I consider each painting as a separate world, a separate reality that I discover and explore. I like to use forms and shapes associated with nature. Forms similar to leaves, boats, stones, scales. Contours of known reality in an unknown world. I observe their interactions among forms and colors. They float in them and define this world, organize, or allow this world to define it. https://issuu.com/arthabens/docs/biennial.ed.xii
