About The Artwork

The work was made with acrylic paint on plantain jacket. Which is an innovative platform for an artwork. This material was invented by me and most of my artworks are made in this material. The scene has a family lying down by the seashore waiting for the fishermen to bring fish. This work was inspired by my childhood growing up in the fishing community in Accra. This was the scene was the most consistent with families waiting for fishermen to bring fish to shore. In life we are always tempted to rush from one activity to another. This is a remainder that we need patience inorder to achieve some other things in life.

I was born in Accra, Ghana but I live at Somanya,Ghana. In 2015, I developed a new material on which I make my paintings. This material was made from plantain leaves so I named it "Plantain jacket". The material gives all my work a unique outlook as it's a refreshing deviation from the traditional canvas material. I love to explore any genre of art whenever I'm inspired enough. Hence I have works in almost every genre. My core competencies are however, are in Advance work, expressionism and a bit of abstract. Most of my works are inspired by of my experiences growing up as a Ghanaian child. So most of them are recollections of my fondest memories.
