The mysterious combination of beauty and color, female and nature adding into it the interrogation of the title: Who's that Girl? Is the conversation of the only visible female figure with the viewer or perhaps someone else located out of sight towards her left, in reference to another but invisible female character behind her.

PURE ART. I see myself as “The Painter Who Loves Colors”. Beauty still represents art to me and I do embrace it when I paint. After two decades working as a fashion designer in the United States, Europe and Latin America, I felt a need to go back to my first love painting. I mainly work in oil on canvas and I also use acrylic, watercolors, pastels and ink to create mixed media work and collage. Lot of colors is usually found on my palette including but not limited: cadmium yellow, ivory black, olive green, phthalo blue, titanium white, venetian red, flesh tint and violet winsor. I enjoy painting landscapes, portraits, city landmarks, things that capture my interest and also spiritual revelation in my dreams. I won my first drawing competition at the age of seven. After finishing my military duties in the navy I soon moved into fashion after obtaining a scholarship from winning a drawing competition on national television. Graduating as a fashion designer from the Instituto Tecnologico Mercy Jacquez, another scholarship was granted from the Escuela de Altos de Chavon. I moved to the United States where I have been granted several prizes including scholarship to study at Miami International University of Art & Design in Florida (mentioned above) and the Centre de Formation Professionelle des Arts de la Mode, FORMAMOD in Paris. I also studied at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. I have been awarded with a Certificate of Appreciation from the Metropolitan Dade County Florida and Honour Mention awards from Air France and Art-Deco Period drawing contests both held at Miami International University of Art & Design. Studio Visit Magazine- Volume eighteen, People Magazine, El Nuevo Herald and Impacto Latin News (in the USA); Drapers Record, The Guardian, Good Life Magazine, Hello Magazine and Karisma Magazine (in the UK); Listin Diario, La Tarde Alegre, El Caribe and Hoy (in Dominican Republic), just to mention a few. I moved to the United Kingdom. England became my new home and I spent almost a decade living and working in London where I had the opportunity to further develop both my career in art and fashion. Since my return to the United States in 2006 I have lived in both Florida and Ohio. I am a Dominican-born American/ British artist with strong interest also in photography; my other sources of interest are: music, cooking, sport, traveling and spending time with my friends and family. I am fluent in English and Spanish.
