Wishful Thinking Print

A tree stump in the shape of a candle sits on the edge of a table near a window, looking out on a glorious oak tree that is in full fall foliage. The candle/tree stump has a flame - only it's a golden leaf that seems to be pointed towards the old oak tree. Is it yearning to be out with all the other leaves? Wishful thinking on its part as the roots/candle wax are anchored into the table itself. This surrealistic image came about as a result of visualizing alternate images for everyday ones. I was looking at photos of a candle and saw a leaf as a potential flame. That led me to searching for similar images online and upon locking in on the image of the candle, knew that the leaf had to be looking out the window staring at a giant oak tree, wishing that it could be with its fellow leaves. Silly? Yes. But still, a startling image that makes you think about things you wish for that seemingly are within your grasp but not always as close as you think.
