About The Artwork
The Easy Streets of Copenhagen - one of my favourite cities in the world. Taken minus 6 Celsius temperatures, as 'Beast From the East' moved across the European continent, the famous Scandinavian colours that coat every building still manages to provide a warming sensation despite the weather's frosty bite. Nyhavn, a formerly sleazy sailors' quarter that is now a cosy and comfy must-see spot, which is centred around its canal. Moseying along the promenade slowly enough to take in all its culturally rich ambience, you can see the glamorous sailboats that fill the canal. Any historic sloop is welcome to moor here, temporarily joining the ever-changing fleet of leisure boats, a scene of modern-day Vikings gone soft. This image of Copenhagen's most famous harbour-front takes me back to those icy cold days that somehow still managed to inspire the sense of 'Hygge' in me, which I gladly brought home to the UK.
