About The Artwork

Always thought the name of the site sounded like a Norwegian Death Metal Band. It is situated on the road between Guer and Reminiac in Southern Brittany. It is little shouted about. The small site is being restored gradually with stones being unearthed, repaired and repositioned occasionally. Worth a visit before all the work is done and it becomes better known. Much, much smaller that Cagnac, but so much quieter. Printed on Canson Photographique Baryta paper using the highest quality archival inks which renders black and white in very much the same way that traditional wet process photographic paper does. Paper size 32.9cm x 32.9cm. Image size is 28.3cm. x 28.3cm. Signed, numbered, titled and dated on verso. Sent with a Certificate of Authenticity.

Born in 1955 in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne and could not wait to get away. Spent time after finishing an ignominious school career in Turkey, Iran, Afghanistan Pakistan, India and Nepal. Then studied Photography at Sheffield Poly, starting in 1979. Did Teacher Training and taught for 1 year at a school in North London which was more than enough. Subsequently worked for Warner Brothers in a non photographic capacity and the BBC both Teaching and Photographing. I have recently returned to working with traditional, wet processes alongside digital. The images in my portfolio start in the 70's and go through to the present day. www.ianhoskin.co.uk
