ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The famous Expressionist painting "The Scream" by Edvard Munch was the inspiration for this mashup, giving new meaning to the anxiety of the scream by putting the central figure in freeway traffic in California. Using a combination of painting, drawing, photography and digital copies of historical art works, Chandler has done a series of remixes of famous artworks from history, called Mashups, updated with contemporary California iconic landscapes and people. Like the creativity that music business has shown via remixing old standards with new beats, he has created new visual works, by mashing up old and new.
