The inspiration to sculpt African women figures comes from divers personal experiences and connections to the rich cultural heritage of Africa. Growing up in Africa, I was surrounded by the vibrant colors, patterns, and shapes, and this exposure ignited a passion for African culture that has stayed with me throughout my life. In particular, I have always been drawn to the strength, resilience, and beauty of African women, and I believe that sculpting their figures is a powerful way to celebrate and honor their contributions to society. Through my art, I hope to showcase the unique qualities and perspectives of African women, while also creating a lasting legacy that speaks to the richness and diversity of African culture.

South Africa
Dora Prévost is a Congolese sculptor who began her artistic journey in 2014. She now resides in Johannesburg, South Africa, with her family. Dora uses her art as a powerful means to speak out against social issues close to her heart, such as injustice, identity struggles, child abuse, and women's empowerment. For Dora, femininity is a boundless source of inspiration, with each woman possessing a unique and complex story that requires an artist's sensitivity to capture its essence. Her works of art explore contrasts between physical, emotional, and spiritual realms, as well as between love and hatred, dignity and shame, and fragility and strength. She aims to express the sensitivity and beauty of women by challenging gender-based violence and stereotypes. Dora's sculptures have universal appeal, shedding light on the challenges faced by women and children across the globe. She is a fearless and adventurous artist, working with a variety of materials, including clay, bronze, concrete, resin plaster, and mixed media. Her artistic journey has been unconventional, with a passion for exploration and an eye for the beauty of textures.
