ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I started this painting back in early 2021. I think I was needing to paint something a bit softer. My head and heart were having trouble accepting all the hard times the world was enduring during the unprecedented times of covid. I set her aside unfinished for a year. Ironically, I happened to finish her amongst yet another devastating time. With a pit in my stomach as Russia invaded Ukraine, I pray that Mother Moth magically come to life, fly off the canvas, and deliver peace from war.

I graduated from Colorado State University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a concentration in metalsmithing and jewelry. Following my education, I promptly moved back to Dallas to start my career as a custom fine jeweler for a local elite designer. After eleven years of honing my craft, I felt the need to switch my focus and go after a life long dream of becoming a studio artist. By blending my jewelry career with early childhood experiences of being raised by parents that embraced nature and creativity, I have created a distinct style all my own. I primarily paint with oil on canvas to create bold and eye catching gem encrusted paintings.
