About The Artwork

This painting depicts an African lady with tribal marks who has gotten to a cross road and doesn't know which way to turn. She is determined to leave her past behind and forge a New life ahead. The society sees women as object of sex, child bearing and rearing, etc that's the reason for much trafficking, abuse and violence. But now women are taking the center stage, breaking new grounds and taking key positions in the society. NO TURNING BACK, is a call to look beyond where you are at the moment, present situation and reach out to the future you've imagined and desire. All things are indeed possible, if you believe.
