Francesco D’Adamo (b. 1979 in Siena, IT) is an Italian painter currently living and working in Bologna, Italy. His painting research is rooted in the Italian informalism and American abstract expressionism, with particular emphasis to a continuous dialogue between visual and musical language. The sign and its rhythm, layered structures, a strong palette and a mixture of different materials and surfaces, they all flow together on the canvas to create a lyrical and still deeply concrete image. Over the years D’Adamo held numerous solo and group exhibitions, with several appearances at international events and fairs. His works can be found in many private and public collections around the globe. Besides painting Francesco has been active in music for most of his life, playing in various projects and bands over the years, most notably Nero di Marte and Nono Cerchio. In the early 2000s he founded and ran the skateboarding company Anonymous Skateboards, active until 2008. From 2010 to 2015 he worked as an educator in the field of disability and psychiatry, in line with his graduate studies.
