Hi, welcome. Narcolia, a word that appeared in a dream many years ago. I was going through a time of stress, caring for a relative. As you may have experienced yourself – the subconscious has a way of expressing. It may not make sense. A journey through a deeper part of the soul. The words ‘Narc’ and ‘olia’ were part of my processing- infused together in the dream. A feeling of escapism. A moment of air. I think my unconscious wanted a release of creativity. So, I wrote about an alternate reality called ‘Narcolia’. A land of narcotics, hedonism and adventure. A place where I could be someone. Where I could write my future through the characters I created. The book remains unfinished. In another dream, I walked through a tall church with the stained-glass windows shattering; fragments colliding in the air. Buddhist monks were doing back-flips. I walked at a faster pace than the concept of time in this reality. Monks were selling art at stalls. There were many beautiful pieces of art- none that I could focus on. However, I knew that they had beauty flowing through them. I bought none. Aware of the chaos around me, feeling only peace inside. In the corner of the room was an old school television: black-and-white. On the TV were the words that somehow, I had been waiting for. They were more than words. It said ‘Let your faith guide you home’. I woke up, like many times before, wrote down my dream and went back asleep. Since then, I have experimented with different mediums to create pieces of escapism. Taking moments of reflection and joy from it. I am here to share that with you. I hope you experience some feeling from my work.
