View In My Room
An exterior study outside of the studio/ gallery made whilst in lockdown. Influenced by Edward Hopper’s ‘morning light’, the symbolic nature of a chair is not intentional but more so, a focal point. It is part of a small series that feature chairs made at this time.

My work explores notions of place—rural and urban landscapes, as well as interiors—shaped by my experiences of travel across the United States, Canada, Fiji, New Zealand, Australia, and regions closer to home in the UK and Europe. I focus on structure, perspective, light, and shape to interpret these environments. Rather than offering literal depictions, my paintings aim to evoke atmosphere—a sense of being present in a specific moment and space. Influenced by artists such as Edward Hopper, Richard Diebenkorn, and Ben Aronson, I’m drawn to the expressive potential of painting: the ability to communicate what words often cannot.
